Maria and Anthony had been online dating for about three months. It was a very exciting thing for both of them. They had met through their profiles on a dating website for singles under thirty. Their relationship had started out with innocent, friendly messages back on forth on the site. As they got to know one another a little better, they had shared email addresses and started to correspond directly.

It was clear that both of them felt there was more to the relationship than simple friendship as their emails started to veer from sweet to sexy. Part of the fun with online dating was that they could say almost anything to one another and not be uncomfortable or embarrassed. So, both of them got to be quite forward.

Tonight, though, Maria was nervous. They were taking their online dating to a new level. They had decided to hook up their web cams and have a conversation where they would be able to see one another for the first time. Anthony had been asking for weeks, already, but Maria had tried to hold him off. Online dating was one thing but being able to watch each other in the flesh, as it were, was a huge step. Still, in spite of her nerves, she had agreed.

Maria couldn't help but laugh at herself, though, as she cleaned her apartment. She was preparing for tonight as though it was a real date and Anthony would be arriving any minute. Granted, he'd be in her apartment but only in a virtual way. She still felt compelled to do everything she could to impress him. She even decided that, during their conversation, she was going to fill the room with candle light. She thought it would be soft and create a calmer feeling for both of them.

Thinking about many of their recent text chats, Maria began to blush furiously. They were really intimate conversations that both she and Anthony had admitted were arousing. She wondered if she would be able to use the same kind of vocabulary or even hold the same kind of conversation looking directly into his eyes. This was venturing into entirely new territory.

Having finished the cleaning, Maria decided to tend to her own appearance next. It was only about an hour until she and Anthony had agreed to log in. "What on earth does a person wear to be on a webcam?!" she stressed, as she worked her way through her closet. She decided that she would dress exactly the way she normally would - comfortable jeans and a t shirt. If Anthony really wanted to get to know her this way, he was going to get to know the real Maria. She hoped he was going to like her.
